Longarm Quilting Services

Quilting doesn’t just keep your quilt together - it’s an additional design element that contributes to the overall aesthetic of your work. A quilt’s quilting is analogous to fonts in text or an invitation to a special event. It conveys tone and can thoughtfully be chosen to harmonize - or juxtapose - the other elements of the quilt. In addition to the design, it’s secondary designs, scale, and thread color can be combined to create endless possibilities! If you know exactly what you want I’m more than happy to executed your vision. But if not, don’t feel overwhelmed - I welcome the opportunity to provide suggestions that I think will complement your fabric and piecing. And in fact, this is my favorite part of longarming!

Edge to edge designs repeat across the quilt, and can be scaled to achieve your desired density of quilting. I can accommodate quilts measuring up to 112 inches across their shortest side, and scale pantographs up to as high as 18" inches.

Quilting

Rate A - Edge to Edge designs with rows that don’t touch, and are low to moderately densely quilted - 0.025 cents per square inch
Rate B - Edge to Edge designs with rows that touch OR high density quilting - 0.03 cents per square inch
To calculate the cost of quilting, multiply your quilt's Length X Width X Rate per Square Inch = Cost
*Minimum quilting charge - $50

Thread

Unless requested otherwise, I use Aurifil Maco Cotton 50wt thread in a neutral color most closely matching the majority of your quilt top (included in square inch rate). Preferably I will use the same color on the front and back, however it that won’t work please let me know and we can discuss.

Additional Charges

Digital designs (“pantos”)

I have a constantly growing collection of mostly shape designs, leaning toward modern geometrics. If you select a design from what I already have there is no additional charge. If you’d like to use a specific shape design that I don’t have I’m willing to split the cost 50%/50% with you (most designs run about $12-$17). If you would like a novelty/character panto you are welcome to cover its full cost.

Batting

You are welcome to provide the batting of your choice, shipped with the quilt top and backing. I also maintain a stock of the following battings, when available. Please confirm that I have it available before shipping your quilt:
